$135 Million Android Settlement – According to Docket 397 Taylor et al v.
Google LLC Filing 397...
Judge
Virginia K. DeMarchi granted final
approval of the $135 million settlement on August 21, 2026. The court authorized the money to be distributed and moved from the approval phase into the distribution /
administration phase.
The
attorneys requested $39,825,000, but
the judge awarded $28,567,515.70
or 21% of the $135 million settlement fund. The judge also
awarded $698,533.60
in court costs and expenses plus $5,000
each to the three named plaintiffs.
Comments:
$135,000,000 ÷ 129,000,000+ people is only about $1.04 per person. With
substantial expenses and attorney fees, it is estimated by many settlement
commentators that payouts will range from $0.64 - $1.04
The
court approved September 8, 2026
as the deadline for remaining proof-of-membership and payment-method
submissions, after which the settlement administrator, Angeion Group, has 10 days to complete its review. The
court ordered the parties to file a post-distribution
accounting by November 20, 2026, within 21 days after the
review.
